Welcome to Elko County Art Club

Aspiring to embolden and inspire art and artist in Elko County.

Elko County Art Club’s passion is in our name, ART. Art is diverse, with many unique forms of expression falling within the definition. We love all the uniques forms of art and hope that the feeling comes across to Artists and the community.

The mission of Elko County Art Club is to support and nurture local artists by providing opportunities for socializing with other artists, pursuing artistic growth, exhibiting and selling their art, and by developing the appreciation of art in the community.

Over 40 years ago, a group of local artists and friends founded ECAC with the basic intent of interpersonal relationships between local artists.

Every artist is first an amateur.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Interest continued to grow through the years, artist demonstrations and exhibitions were organized, community art scholarships were added, and in 1978, the first annual Art in the Park, an artist vendor event, took place at the Elko Main City Park.

Always wanting to grow, to support artists and bring artistic endeavors to the community; ECAC went a new direction and the 501(c)(3) was established and the Gallery opened.

The vision for Elko County Art Club is to foster, promote, and sponsor activities which aim to expand artistic perception and increase public interest in the arts and related activities.

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.

-Scott Adams

Exhibition of Artwork by Elko County High School Seniors & Elko County Art Club Scholarship

The annual Exhibition of Artwork by Elko County High School Seniors offers those who plan on furthering their education after graduating from High School, the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship to be applied to art classes and supplies. Elko County High School Seniors submit an application and artwork for exhibit and judging.

Scholarships are supported through the Rotating Art Exhibit, the Art in the Park Raffle and direct public support.

Art in the Park Vendors donate an item or items to the Raffle and the proceeds of raffle sales are added to the scholarship. When the community supports Art in the Park and the ECAC Raffle, the community is supporting the ECAC Scholarship.

In 1992, the Elko County Art Club Scholarship was created to honor recently passed Charlie Paul, the founder of Elko County Art Club. Today, the Scholarship continues honor the legacy of Charlie Paul and those members who have died yet have left an indelible mark on Elko County Art Club and arts in the Elko County community.
